When the Power Goes Off, Turn the Virtual Assistant On

There are so many really great reasons why a small business owner should hire a virtual assistant. Any Google search can easily offer reasons why. I have another reason….here’s my story….

I worked with a wonderful real estate agent name Paulia Kennedy of Trademark Realty in Hot Springs, Arkansas as her real estate virtual assistant. We used a peer-to-peer program to share large files of photographs. When she uploads her listing photographs, they automatically appear on my desktop in a folder customized for this client. In fall 2008, with Hurricane Ike bearing its ugly head on the states of Louisiana, Texas and then onto Arkansas many residents lost power due to high winds and downed trees; unfortunately this particular client was not spared the wrath of this storm. Paulia lost power for several days until she was able to get her generator working. In the meantime, she asked me to continue work on her listings. The good news was that I COULD DO that from my location because I was privy to her websites and her listing photographs. As a result, she lost no time continuing with her real estate work and when she was up and running successfully, it was business as usual.
